In 2016, UNT Undergraduate Research Fellowship opportunities were established by the President, Provost, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and the Vice President for Research and Innovation to reward students for their efforts in engaging in faculty-mentored research and beyond-the-classroom projects. Students must apply and be accepted to the program and commit to the 9-month research and presentation process, culminating in participation and presentation of their work at the Honors College Scholars Day event in April 2021. Throughout the process, students learn research methodology from their faculty mentors, preparing them for rewarding careers and developing their teamwork, critical thinking and communication skills.
